ABOUT US

Discover. Grow. Share

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
— 1 Corinthians 13:13

New Life Church is defined by three simple words: Discover. Grow. Share. Discover the hope of Jesus. Grow your faith in Jesus. Share the love of Jesus.

One of the first things you’ll notice about New Life Church is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We are a diverse church made up of people from different backgrounds and stages in their journey with God. We value passionate worship and anointed preaching. In these ways, we hope to model the early, “Book of Acts” church in the 21st century.

Our Method

Weekend Services: Our corporate gathering is where we introduce people to Jesus and help them discover hope.

First Steps: First Steps will help guide you to become the person God created you to be. You’ll learn about who we are, who you are, and how you can make a difference!

Small Groups: We believe that life change happens in the context of relationships. Small Groups are where we grow our faith and become who God is calling us to be.

Serve Team: We are blessed to be a blessing to others. By serving others, we can share the love of Jesus that has changed our lives.

 Our Story

God led the Stanley’s from Louisiana to New Life Church in May of 1974, where they assumed pastorate with 28 voting members.

For 45 years, we’ve seen God change countless lives through the baptism of the Holy Ghost and faith in Jesus’ name. God has revealed Himself mightily to New Life through miracles and answered prayers. We’ve seen God heal the sick, deliver the addicted, and even raise a man back to life!

In Summer 2014, God opened the doors for us to purchase our current facility on Interstate 30 in Garland. Our hope is that this place is a refuge for our city and a place for people to find hope and healing.

Pastor Shannon and Charidy Stanley, with their boys Lincoln and Harrison, assumed the role of Senior Pastor in June 2017 after over 20 years of service at a thriving church in Louisiana. This had been a lifelong dream of Bishop and Sis. Stanley, and it is just the beginning in the next chapter of the story God is writing here. We would love for you to be a part!

What We Believe

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true in all that it teaches. As the flawless Word of God, it is our only authority for what we believe and how we live. 2 Timothy 3:16

God

We believe in one God who is the creator and sustainer of all things. He has revealed Himself to mankind as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit) in the New Testament Church. Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 3:16

Sin and Salvation

We believe that because of the original sin of Adam and Eve, all of humanity is in a fallen state and in need of salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9

The Gospel and Conversion

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the gospel. We obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin), being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). This threefold experience is the consistent pattern of conversion in the early church. 1 Corinthians 15.1-4; 2 Thessalonians 1.8; 1 Peter 4.17; Mark 1.15; Acts 15.7; Romans 6.3-4; Acts 2.4, 37-39; 8.9-17; 10.1-48; 19.1-7

Christian Living

We learn from scripture that God has always required a people who have been set-apart for Himself. As Christians we are to love God and love others. We are to worship God joyfully and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly—in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit. As a Spirit-filled church, we believe that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit are for the church today and are available to all Spirit-filled believers. Leviticus 19:2; Titus 2:12; Mark 12.28-31; 1 Corinthians 12.8-10; 2 Corinthians 7.1; Romans 8.13-14; Galations 5.19-26; Hebrews 12.14

The Church

We believe the church has been called out of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ fully and love one another sacrificially. We believe the church, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is called to affect genuine spiritual change in the community. We believe the local church is the hope of the world! The church is called to be one group of people made up of many members; all using their talents and abilities for the cause of Christ. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Hebrews 10:23-25; Acts 2:42-47, 17:6, 1 Peter 2:5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-26
