Visitor FAQ’S

We know visiting a new church can be intimidating. We are here to make your visit as welcoming as possible. If you're planning to visit one of our services, here are a few questions that guests often ask:
Weekend services at New Life are on Sundays at 10am and 6pm. Our mid-week service happens on Wednesday evenings at 7:30. Various activities occur throughout the week, so be sure to check out the calendar.
Our address is 402 Oaks Trail Garland, TX 75043. We’re located one block south of I-30 and Bobtown Road.

From I-30 West: take the Bobtown Road exit and turn right.

From I-30 East: take the Zion Road exit, continue through the light, and turn left on Bobtown.

At New Life, you’ll find people dressed in a variety of ways. Some people dress in jeans and casual shirts, others in their “Sunday Best”. Feel free to wear whatever is most comfortable to you.
If it is your first time visiting New Life, you can find designated parking near the main building entrance. If not, or if these spaces have been filled, feel free to park anywhere. We have golf carts and drivers who can provide you with a ride to the entrance.

You will be greeted and made comfortable by our Welcome Team. You can expect to find many friendly people who are ready to answer any questions you may have.

On Sunday mornings, our Welcome Team will direct you to the Children’s Hall, where you can check your children into their Sunday School class. Sunday School runs simultaneously with our Worship Service, from 10am to about 10:50. Following Sunday School, your children will be escorted to KidsChurch, which happens simultaneously with the preaching portion of the church service, from 10:50 to about 11:30.

If your children are uncomfortable with going to Sunday School or KidsChurch, feel free to bring them into the main sanctuary with you. Sunday School is for ages 2-12. KidsChurch is for ages 4-12 (toddlers are supervised in their own classroom). Nursery care is provided for children under the age of 2 (Sunday mornings only).

At the conclusion of service, children may be picked up by their parent(s) in the Children’s Hall.

Middle and High school students are encouraged to join their peers in the Youth Center, where they too can attend Sunday School. Following their class, they are dismissed to join you in the main sanctuary for the preaching portion of the church service.

We do not have a set “style” of worship. Rather, our music genre ranges from contemporary to gospel with traditional sometimes mixed in. We have a full band of musicians, a praise team, and a choir that sings in our Sunday evening service.

You will see people worshiping God in a variety of ways. It is typically energetic and spirited, but we encourage you to worship in whatever way you feel comfortable. We believe that the most appropriate way to worship is with sincerity.

We do our best to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit during worship time. We do not always follow a schedule or a program. We believe one of the best qualities of New Life is allowing God to do what He wants to do, so we make room for that in our services.

There will be times in service where the congregation is invited to pray for needs that may be present. Don’t be alarmed if you hear people praying aloud. Some people pray quietly and others pray with great passion. However you pray is fine with us!

Our Pastor preaches and teaches the Word of God with a lot of passion and energy. His burden is to see lives changed. You will probably notice that other people are just as excited to hear the Word of God. We believe that the message will be both inspiring and relevant to your life.

At the conclusion of the message, people generally respond through prayer and worship. Some will come to the front for corporate prayer, others will pray individually at their seats. While everyone is encouraged to respond to God’s Spirit and Word, don’t worry – you’ll never feel pressured by us. We want everyone to seek after God at their own pace.
At the end of service, all first time guests are invited to stop by our Hospitality Room, located in our small foyer just outside of the sanctuary. Here you will be able to enjoy light refreshments while meeting our Pastoral Staff and more of our members. Before leaving, you’ll receive a small gift as a token of our appreciation for your visit.
